Terms of Use

These Terms explain the ground rules for using Husky Tailgate. We have tried to make them direct and readable.

The agreement

These Terms govern your use of Husky Tailgate. Husky Tailgate is operated by an individual sole proprietor in Washington using the trade name Husky Tailgate.

By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

Who may use Husky Tailgate

You must:

  • Be at least 18 years old.
  • Be located in the United States.
  • Provide accurate information.
  • Use a phone number you control or are authorized to use.
  • Follow these Terms and applicable law.

Husky Tailgate is currently a private MVP. Access may require an invitation, active membership, or approval from a tailgate host. An invitation does not guarantee permanent access.

What the service does

Husky Tailgate helps private groups coordinate tailgate events. Features may include:

  • Invitations and crew membership.
  • Event details and RSVPs.
  • Arrival and guest information.
  • Meal and supply coordination.
  • Informal pledges.
  • Ticket coordination.
  • Optional event text messages.
  • Host tools for managing the group.
  • Requests for help joining a tailgate or starting a new tailgate.

Features may change as the MVP develops.

Accounts and phone verification

You are responsible for activity through your account and for keeping access to your phone secure. Tell us promptly at contact@huskytailgate.com if you believe someone has used your account without permission.

We may send a one-time verification code when you ask to sign in. Do not share that code with anyone. You may not create accounts through automated means, impersonate someone else, or use another person’s phone number without permission.

Respect other participants

Husky Tailgate is built for coordination among real people. You agree not to:

  • Harass, threaten, stalk, or discriminate against anyone.
  • Post unlawful, fraudulent, deceptive, or seriously offensive content.
  • Share another person’s private information without permission.
  • Misrepresent an RSVP, pledge, ticket, identity, or event detail.
  • Scrape participant information or use it for unrelated purposes.
  • Send spam or unauthorized marketing.
  • Bypass invitations, membership restrictions, blocks, rate limits, or security controls.
  • Interfere with the service or attempt to access accounts or data without permission.
  • Use Husky Tailgate to violate any law or another person’s rights.

Hosts receive broader access to participant information. Hosts must use that access only to operate the relevant tailgate and must handle participant information responsibly.

Invitations and phone contacts

Only add or invite people when you have a reasonable basis to believe they would expect the invitation or tailgate contact. Do not upload phone numbers obtained through purchased lists, scraping, or unrelated activities.

An invitation may be limited, expire, or be revoked. Do not publish private invitation links or codes unless the host has authorized it.

You may ask us to help you find the right invite or explore starting a tailgate. Sending a request does not add you to a crew, create a tailgate, or guarantee access. A host or Husky Tailgate must still approve the appropriate next step.

Optional event text messages

Husky Tailgate Event Updates is an optional SMS program operated by Husky Tailgate.

If you opt in:

  • Messages are limited to event welcomes, RSVP nudges, and important event reminders or changes.
  • We do not send advertising or promotional texts.
  • Frequency varies, but you will receive no more than six optional messages per event.
  • Message and data rates may apply.
  • Mobile carriers are not responsible for delayed or undelivered messages.
  • Consent to optional texts is not required to use the core service.

Reply STOP to opt out. Reply START to opt back in. Reply HELP for help, or email contact@huskytailgate.com.

Your opt-out applies to optional event updates. It does not prevent a one-time verification code that you specifically request when signing in. Do not rely on Husky Tailgate texts for emergencies, safety warnings, or other time-critical communication.

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle phone numbers and SMS consent.

Pledges are informal

A pledge recorded through Husky Tailgate is only a statement of present intent.

Husky Tailgate:

  • Does not collect or process pledged money.
  • Does not guarantee that anyone will pay.
  • Does not issue receipts.
  • Does not treat a pledge as a charitable contribution.
  • Does not enforce payment between participants.

Participants are responsible for resolving any payment or reimbursement arrangements outside the service. A pledge may be changed or revoked where the service allows it.

A tailgate owner may provide a Venmo profile link as a convenience. Opening that link takes you to Venmo, does not initiate or confirm a payment in Husky Tailgate, and does not change the pledge’s status. Verify the payee in Venmo before sending money.

Ticket coordination is not a marketplace

Ticket features help participants communicate about possible ticket availability.

Husky Tailgate does not:

  • Own, sell, broker, transfer, authenticate, or guarantee tickets.
  • Process ticket payments.
  • Guarantee that a ticket exists, is valid, or can be transferred.
  • Settle disputes between ticket holders and recipients.

Any ticket exchange occurs directly between participants and at their own risk. Participants are responsible for following the ticket issuer’s rules and applicable law.

Events and personal safety

Husky Tailgate does not organize, supervise, control, or insure the events listed through the service. Hosts and participants are responsible for their own plans, conduct, property, food, transportation, alcohol use, and personal safety.

Use good judgment when meeting people, sharing information, handling food, attending events, or making arrangements outside the service.

Your content

You keep ownership of information and content you submit. You give Husky Tailgate permission to store, process, display, and share that content within the relevant tailgate as reasonably needed to operate the service. This permission ends when the content is deleted, except where copies must be retained for security, legal obligations, dispute resolution, or normal backup processes.

You are responsible for having the right to submit your content.

Husky Tailgate materials

The service’s software, design, and original content belong to Husky Tailgate or its licensors. These Terms allow you to use the service for its intended personal, noncommercial purpose. They do not give you ownership of the service or permission to copy, resell, reverse engineer, or commercially exploit it.

“Husky Tailgate” is a private service name. The service is not affiliated with, sponsored by, endorsed by, or officially connected to the University of Washington or its athletic programs.

Third-party services

Husky Tailgate relies on third-party services such as Supabase, Vercel, Cloudflare, and Twilio. Links or integrations may also lead to services we do not control. Those services may have their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services, websites, products, or conduct.

Moderation and account removal

Hosts may manage their own tailgate membership, invitations, roles, and participant blocks.

We may restrict, suspend, or remove access when reasonably necessary to:

  • Enforce these Terms.
  • Protect participants or the service.
  • Investigate suspected fraud, abuse, or security problems.
  • Comply with law.
  • Discontinue the MVP or a feature.

When practical, we will try to provide notice. We may act without advance notice when immediate action is reasonably needed.

You may stop using Husky Tailgate at any time. To request account or data deletion, email contact@huskytailgate.com.

The service may change or stop

This is an MVP provided without charge. We may add, remove, or change features, impose reasonable limits, or stop offering some or all of the service.

If we later introduce a paid feature, we will disclose its price and applicable terms before charging anyone. These Terms do not authorize us to charge you.

No promises we cannot make

We work to keep Husky Tailgate useful and secure, but the service is provided “as is” and “as available.”

To the extent permitted by law, we do not promise that:

  • The service will always be available, secure, or error-free.
  • Event, participant, pledge, meal, or ticket information is accurate.
  • Messages or invitations will always arrive on time.
  • Participants will follow through on their plans.
  • The service will meet every user’s needs.

Nothing in these Terms removes a right or warranty that applicable law does not allow us to exclude.

Limits on liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Husky Tailgate and its operator will not be responsible for indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential losses, or for lost data, profits, opportunities, goodwill, tickets, property, or event expenses arising from the service.

Our total liability for claims relating to the service will not exceed the greater of:

  • The amount you paid Husky Tailgate during the 12 months before the claim; or
  • $100.

These limits do not apply where applicable law does not allow them. They also do not limit responsibility for intentional wrongdoing or other liability that cannot legally be limited.

Claims caused by misuse

If your unlawful conduct, content, or intentional misuse of Husky Tailgate causes a third party to make a claim against us, you agree to cover the reasonable losses and legal costs resulting from that claim.

This does not apply to losses caused by Husky Tailgate’s own wrongdoing, and it does not require you to accept responsibility where applicable law says otherwise.

Resolving concerns

Please contact contact@huskytailgate.com first if you have a concern. We would prefer to understand the problem and try to resolve it informally.

Washington law governs these Terms, without applying rules that would select another jurisdiction’s law. We do not require mandatory arbitration, and these Terms do not include a class-action waiver.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the service changes. We will post the revised Terms with a new effective date. If a change materially affects your rights, we will provide additional notice when reasonably appropriate.

Continuing to use the service after updated Terms take effect means you accept them. If you do not agree to an update, you should stop using the service.

General terms

If a court finds that one part of these Terms cannot be enforced, the remaining parts will continue to apply. A delay in enforcing a provision does not permanently waive our right to enforce it later.

These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and Husky Tailgate about the service. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms to someone else. We may transfer these Terms if the service is reorganized, moved into a company, or transferred to a new operator that accepts these obligations.
