Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Husky Tailgate collects, why we use it, and the choices available to you.

Privacy, plainly

Husky Tailgate is operated by an individual sole proprietor in Washington using the trade name Husky Tailgate. In this policy, “Husky Tailgate,” “we,” and “us” refer to that service and its operator.

Information we collect

We collect information needed to operate the service:

  • Account information: Your display name, verified US phone number, optional contact email, sign-in records, and account session information.
  • Tailgate activity: Your memberships and roles, invitations, RSVPs, arrival plans, guests, meal or supply commitments, pledges, ticket coordination, and notes you choose to submit.
  • Information supplied by hosts: A host may add a phone number to an invitation or crew list before that person creates an account.
  • Reimbursement information: A tailgate owner may save a Venmo profile URL, Venmo username, and payee display name for members to use outside Husky Tailgate.
  • Messaging information: Whether you agreed to receive optional event texts, when you opted in or out, message-delivery status, limited delivery records, and records needed to honor STOP requests.
  • Technical and security information: IP address, browser and device details, server logs, security events, and CAPTCHA results. Our service providers may collect this information when they help us host, secure, or operate the service.
  • Performance information: Anonymous page-performance measurements; named navigation and save/claim operations; whether an operation succeeded or failed; duration; coarse route, network, browser, device, operating system, and country information; deployment release; and measurement time. We do not include names, phone numbers, user IDs, tailgate IDs, invite tokens, full URLs, error messages, or information entered into the app with these measurements.
  • Requests to us: When you ask for help joining or starting a tailgate, we collect your contact email, any optional tailgate or inviter details you provide, request status, and follow-up history.
  • Messages to us: Information you include when contacting support or making a privacy request.

Please avoid entering sensitive personal information into free-form notes.

How we use information

We use this information to:

  • Create and secure accounts.
  • Verify phone numbers and send sign-in codes requested by users.
  • Manage invitations, memberships, event access, RSVPs, meals, supplies, pledges, and ticket coordination.
  • Show an eligible member the tailgate owner’s saved Venmo profile after that member records a pledge.
  • Show relevant event information to hosts and other participants.
  • Send optional event updates when a user has agreed to receive them.
  • Provide support and respond to privacy requests.
  • Use your contact email for account help and request follow-up, including helping you join or start a tailgate.
  • Detect abuse, troubleshoot problems, enforce access restrictions, and protect the service.
  • Measure and improve page speed and reliability across routes, device types, network conditions, and broad geographic areas.
  • Meet legal obligations and resolve disputes.

We do not use your information for targeted advertising. We do not use your contact email for marketing unless you give separate permission.

What other participants can see

Husky Tailgate is a group-coordination service, so some information is shared within the relevant tailgate:

  • Members may see participant display names, roles, RSVP details, guest counts, meal or supply commitments, and ticket information needed for coordination.
  • Eligible members may see a tailgate owner’s saved Venmo payee name, username, and profile link for reimbursement outside Husky Tailgate.
  • Hosts have broader access so they can operate the group. This may include verified phone numbers, invitation records, messaging preferences and delivery status, pledge details, and membership or blocking history.
  • Your information is not intended to be publicly searchable through Husky Tailgate.

Your contact email and requests to us are not shown to other participants. They are available only to you and the Husky Tailgate operator who handles follow-up.

Only share information you are comfortable providing to the hosts and members of your tailgate.

Service providers

We use companies that help us run Husky Tailgate:

  • Supabase for accounts, authentication, and database services.
  • Vercel for application hosting and anonymous page-performance measurement.
  • Cloudflare Turnstile for abuse and bot prevention.
  • Twilio for phone verification and text-message delivery.

These providers may process information under their own privacy policies and agreements with us. We give them only the access reasonably needed to provide their services.

If you choose to open a saved Venmo profile link, you leave Husky Tailgate and interact directly with Venmo. Husky Tailgate does not receive payment credentials, transaction identifiers, receipts, or confirmation that a payment occurred.

We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to valid legal requests, protect people or the service, investigate fraud or abuse, or handle a future transfer of the service to a new operator. If the service later becomes part of a company, that company may take over the information and the responsibilities described in this policy.

Mobile information and SMS consent

We do not sell or share mobile phone numbers, SMS opt-in information, or SMS consent with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes.

Twilio and other vendors may process this information only as needed to deliver messages, secure the service, and support its operation.

Phone verification and optional event texts are separate:

  • We may send a one-time code when you ask to sign in.
  • Optional messages are limited to event welcomes, RSVP nudges, and important event reminders or changes.
  • We do not send advertising or promotional texts.
  • Frequency varies, but we send no more than six optional messages per event.
  • Agreeing to optional texts is not required to use the core service.

Reply STOP to an optional event message to opt out. Reply START to opt back in, or HELP for help. You may also contact contact@huskytailgate.com. Message and data rates may apply.

Opting out of optional event updates does not prevent a verification code that you specifically request when signing in.

Cookies and similar technology

Husky Tailgate uses authentication cookies needed to keep you signed in and operate the service securely. Our hosting and security providers may also maintain necessary logs or use technology needed to prevent abuse.

We use Vercel Speed Insights for anonymous page-level measurements and store identity-free measurements for named navigation, RSVP, meal, food, ticket, Gear, and Realtime subscription-health operations. These measurements help us understand how quickly the app reaches an authoritative success or visible failure. Realtime measurements use static operation and outcome labels and do not include channel filters, row contents, user IDs, event IDs, tailgate IDs, or server error messages. Vercel describes its Speed Insights measurements as anonymous and not tied to an individual visitor or IP address, and says they cannot reconstruct a browsing session across pages. We use all performance information only to improve the product.

We do not use advertising trackers or targeted advertising, and we do not sell performance or usage information.

How long we keep information

We keep information while it is needed to operate your account and the relevant tailgate. Some event history may remain available for coordination and recordkeeping after an event.

Request records may remain after completion or dismissal when needed for follow-up, security, recordkeeping, or duplicate prevention.

If you ask us to delete your account or information, we will verify the request and aim to complete it within 30 days when reasonably possible. We may retain limited records when needed for:

  • Security and fraud prevention.
  • Resolving disputes.
  • Meeting legal obligations.
  • Enforcing membership blocks.
  • Remembering messaging opt-outs.

SMS opt-outs take effect immediately through the supported opt-out process and do not wait for completion of a deletion request.

Your choices

You may:

  • Update information available through your account.
  • Change RSVPs and event commitments.
  • Revoke a pledge or release a ticket claim where the service allows it.
  • Turn off optional event texts or reply STOP.
  • If you are the recorded tailgate owner, update or remove the Venmo profile shown to that tailgate’s eligible members.
  • Request access to, correction of, or deletion of your information by emailing contact@huskytailgate.com.

We may ask you to verify your identity before acting on a privacy request. Some requests may be limited where retaining information is reasonably necessary or required by law.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No online service can promise perfect security, so please use Husky Tailgate with that limitation in mind.

If we learn of a data breach, we will investigate and provide notices when required by applicable law.

Adults only

Husky Tailgate is intended only for people who are at least 18 years old. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.

If you believe a person under 18 has provided information, contact contact@huskytailgate.com.

United States service

The MVP is intended for users in the United States and is operated from Washington. Information is processed and stored in the United States or wherever our service providers operate.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service changes. We will post the revised policy with a new effective date. If a change materially affects how we use information, we will provide additional notice when reasonably appropriate.
